Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how The Interior Diary uses cookies and similar technologies. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

What cookies do

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. They can support essential website functions or help measure how visitors use a website. Some expire when you close your browser; others remain until they expire or you delete them.

Essential website cookies

WordPress and our hosting provider may use cookies for administrator login, security, or website functionality. These are different from optional audience-measurement cookies. Visitors do not need a WordPress account to read our articles.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages visitors read, how they reach the website, and how they interact with our content. Depending on the settings and your choices, measurement can include page views, interactions, device and browser information, approximate location, and identifiers. Google processes this information to provide analytics reports.

Google Analytics 4 commonly uses the first-party cookies _ga to distinguish visitors and _ga_[property identifier] to maintain session information. Google’s documented default expiration is two years; browser limits and our configured settings can shorten this. These are typical cookie names and defaults, rather than a record of every cookie present in your browser.

Managing your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies can affect some website functions. Deleting cookies does not delete information already processed by a provider.

Where consent is required, analytics should be governed by a consent control before optional cookies are stored. This policy explains cookie use; it does not itself switch analytics on or off.

External platforms

Our Pinterest and Instagram links take you to separate services. Those services handle cookies under their own policies. Linking to a social profile does not itself mean we have installed that platform’s advertising pixel.
